Cable Racking

Cable drum racking allows reels or spools of cable to be held on a bar in a selective racking system so they can be unrolled easily. Rather than sitting horizontally on a pallet and having to lift them off every time, this setup lets an electrician or plumber pull off whatever length they need directly from the rack. It’s simple, neat, and saves a lot of handling.

You’ll typically see this type of racking near where technicians are working or preparing jobs, close to the front of the warehouse or packing area rather than the back. It’s for faster-moving stock, not long-term storage.

Usually, bays are around 1.2 to 1.4 metres wide and up to about 2.4 metres high. Each bar can hold four or five reels depending on width, and the weight capacity is generally between 500kg and a tonne per level.
