Narrow Aisle Racking

Narrow aisle racking is almost identical to selective pallet racking, except that the base plate is made with a very low profile so a narrow aisle forklift or order picker can pass through without running over the anchors or base plates. It’s designed to pack more storage into a smaller footprint by tightening up the aisle width.

You’ll typically see it in bulky goods or appliance warehouses, furniture distribution, or clothing logistics, anywhere you need a condensed layout but still want good access to individual products. Aisles are often between 1.2 and 1.5 metres wide.

It can have wire guidance or guide rails so the order picker doesn’t knock the racking, and decking can range from mesh to particle board or galvanised sheeting depending on what’s being stored. Bays are usually 1.35 to 2.7 metres wide, 838 or 1200mm deep, and rarely exceed 2 tonnes per level.
