Vertical Racking

Vertical racking, sometimes called extrusion racking, is for storing pipes, conduit, and extrusions vertically rather than stacking them on the floor. Divider arms along the frame keep the stock separated by size or material, so you can grab what you need without shifting everything else.

You’ll see it used by plumbers, electricians, extrusion manufacturers, and air-conditioning suppliers, anywhere with long, awkward items that need to be kept tidy. Because the stock is long, these are generally installed close to roller doors or trade counters where trades can pick what they need and load straight up.

There’s no real load rating because there’s no dynamic weight, but they’re usually built with pallet racking frames rated to one or two tonnes per level. Heights run from about 4.8 to 6 metres, around 2.6 metres wide, with a beam at floor level to stop stock sliding out.
